In Awakening, I wanted to create an image that felt suspended between stillness and revelation. Inspired by the writings of Rainer Maria Rilke, the painting reflects those rare emotional states in which something ordinary suddenly becomes luminous and deeply alive.
The white rose emerged for me as both a physical object and a symbolic presence. Illuminated from within, it appears almost weightless against the surrounding darkness, suggesting vulnerability, beauty, and the fragile intensity of awakening to oneself. I was interested in the contrast between delicacy and radiance, and in how light can transform a simple form into something spiritual and emotionally charged.
The painting is rooted less in narrative than in atmosphere and inner experience. For me, “Awakening” became a meditation on emergence, sensitivity, and the quiet moment when something hidden begins to reveal itself.
